Frequently Asked Questions
Algoright isn't filtering anything. What should I check?
First, reload the tab: the extension only starts on pages opened after it was installed or updated. Then click the Algoright icon and check the header says Active. If you see "Algoright is paused", press Resume filtering. Finally, check the site: YouTube works on the free plan, while TikTok, Instagram and X filtering are part of Pro.
How do I hide YouTube Shorts?
Click the Algoright icon and switch on Hide short-form videos under Filters. The Shorts shelf and Shorts in your feed disappear straight away. It's free on YouTube.
How do I turn the category labels on or off?
Open the popup, go to Category Display and tick or untick Show category label. The small ✕ on the corner of any label also hides labels everywhere in one click. Filtering keeps working either way.
A video has the wrong label. How do I fix it?
Click the ✗ on the label and pick the right category. The ✓ confirms a label is correct. Corrections feed back into the on-device classifier, so similar videos are sorted better over time.
Does it work in the YouTube, TikTok or Instagram phone apps?
No. Algoright is a browser extension, so it filters youtube.com, tiktok.com, instagram.com and x.com in a desktop browser: Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Extensions can't reach inside the iOS or Android apps.
Do I need an account?
Not to filter YouTube: install the extension and it works straight away. A free account keeps your stats and settings, and you need one for Pro and for AI Classification.
How do I pause Algoright for a while?
Click the power button at the top right of the popup. Nothing is filtered, hidden or labelled until you press Resume filtering.
Why does my "Videos AI Can Analyse" counter show 0?
That counter is how many more videos the AI will read today, and it resets at midnight UTC. Filtering keeps working when it runs out — Algoright falls back to fast on-device matching, it just stops doing the deeper AI read. If you hit it often, Pro raises the daily allowance.
My stats (filtered count / time saved) aren't updating.
The extension counts as you browse and syncs to your account in the background while you're signed in, usually within a few minutes. If the dashboard still looks behind, check the popup shows you signed in to the same account, then reload the dashboard.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to the Pricing page while logged in and click the plan you want. Payments are handled securely via Stripe.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to your account settings and click 'Manage Billing'. You can cancel anytime — you keep access until the end of the billing period.
