Algoright AI vs BlockTube
BlockTube hides YouTube videos, channels and comments that match rules you write. Algoright sorts videos into categories and hides the ones you switch off. One is precise and manual; the other is broad and automatic.
A fair comparison
BlockTube is free, open source and very good at what it does. Everything said about it here comes from its own documentation, checked in September 2026. Where something isn't documented, we say so rather than guess.
What BlockTube does
You give BlockTube rules: keywords or regular expressions matched against video titles, channel names, channel IDs and video IDs, plus rules for comments. Anything that matches is filtered out before YouTube draws the page. You can also block whole channels, hide the Trending section and protect the settings with a password.
It works on YouTube in Chrome and Firefox, including m.youtube.com in Firefox for Android and Kiwi Browser. It is free and open source under GPLv3.
What Algoright does
Algoright needs no rules. Every video gets one of 35 category labels, such as Coding, Gaming or Celebrity & Gossip, and the categories you switch off disappear from your feed. It also hides Shorts, clickbait and sponsored posts with one switch each, and with Pro it works on TikTok, Instagram and X too.
Labels are worked out on your device. Only when the on-device classifier is unsure, and only if AI Classification is on, are a video's title and channel name sent for a second opinion.

If you know exactly which channels and words you never want to see, BlockTube's rules are more precise than categories. If you want your feed to change without writing and maintaining a list, categories do that work for you.
